Feb 1, 2022: This came up as a facebook memory from 7 years ago today: that was the day I met the filly I named Tess. I had less than 24 hours to decide if I would pick her up from the track at the request of someone who was unable to get there, but wanted to save her before she shipped to slaughter. You can see what my decision was! It turned out that she had 3 bone chips in one ankle, so the person who had asked me to go and get her did not want her anymore. So here she stayed; and after a lot of adjusting to off- the- track life, she lives happily ‘ever after’ - particularly with friends, Gringo, Scarlett, and Roxy as I write this.
