Some of our Adoptable Horses:
Georgio is about 8 or 9 years old. He is a flashy gelding, and a big boy, even though he stands at 15.3 hands. He is sound, intelligent, and sensitive.
Georgio was sold at auction and his consigner said he had 60 days pro training. His history is, however, unknown.
Georgio has been ridden here, and even as his training continues, he will need need training to reach his potential under saddle. He requires an experienced rider. He is good for the farrier, and loves attention. AND he can JUMP!
This horse is an absolute sweetheart - he follows me around the yard and whinnies when I approach his paddock.
As of August 2018, he is in saddle training at Adorado with Juliana and doing well.
IRRESISTABLUE is a real head turner in the summer time when his blue roan colouring and his solid build really grabs the attention of most horse people who visit! We saved him from auction but came with absolutely no information or history. We had to have one of his teeth removed immediately due to a swelling on the side of his face - and based on the (massive) tooth size, our vet determined that he was about 5 to 6 years old. So he is now about 8 or9 years. He is a stocky, solid horse - such a strong build, but about 15 hands. When his group tears off in a lope, he doesn't worry about coming in first; so, I wouldn't recommend him for barrel racing. But he is very sensible and intelligent. Nothing much phases Irresistablue. He has always been very confident, and has a settling effect on his group - he is the top horse, but is not aggressive. With people, he is super quiet. And he is usually good for the farrier.
And - as you can see - he's been ridden while here! He has also been lunged and ground driven - thank you Juiiana! And altough nothing much phases Iri, he is actually what a pro trainer called, quite 'feely. He is sensitive to pressure, in terms of being asked to move off or pressure. Due to scheduling of a pro trainer and someone who flew in to see the session, he was assessed in about 100 kph wind gusts (June 2018), and was pretty chill. As of August, 2018, he is being trained at Adordo by Juliana; he is progressing nicely.
In Mobile View, please tap on photos for more info on a particular adoptable: If you are interested in adopting, please email us for an adoption application. The adoption process includes filling out the form, a follow up phone call, then meeting the horse! Adoptions are made under contract prohibiting selling (especially at auction), and breeding. There is an adoption fee. The goal is to find a suitable match so as to ensure that the adopter and the horse are both happy long term. :)
Cole is a gorgeous blue roan QH/TB cross (appendix) who we rescued at auction as a foal. He is coming 3 in 2018. We had him gelded as a yearling, and got him started on halter and lead training, and had the farrier trim his little feet. He is a bit shy with new people, but warms up after he learns to trust. He is incredibly kind and gentle.
This stunning bay mare has just turned 3. She is a warmblood who was born in Ontario and whose sire (Riot) had a very successful jumping and dressage career. She was almost adopted in the summer of 2017, but she was slightly off on her right left hind when on a circle for her soundness exam. The physical exam didn't reveal anything serious, and the vet opined that she could very well test differently in a few months. This mare is kind, intelligent, and friendly - and she can really move.
Cheri is now 3 years old and has been here since being rescued at auction as a foal. She is a super pretty red roan, and has grown to over 15 hands, with nice conformation, and an easy to work with temperament. She has spent time in a stall, is halter and lead trained, and is good for the farrier. She's the perfect age to start, and can be registered with AQHA.
is a leggy dun yearling with a white star who is just a beauty. We got her at auction in 2015, and didn’t get her papers even though her breeder later said an application was provided; we were told that Estelle’s dam was a registered appy, and that they bred their foals for temperament. We believe that, as Estelle is quiet, gentle, and captivating. We have since got her halter and lead trained. In June 2018, she went to the Global Pet Foods in leduc to promote Adorado, and was perfect!
Cinnabar is petite 2 (now) 2 year oldy who we got at auction with a group that included Aiden. Cinnabar was thin and needed some serious vet care for several months. She was afraid of people, but has since been halter and lead trained, and really become quite relaxed; she’s good with the farrier, and in the barn. She was said to come from registered AQHA parents, but we can see a bit of arab in her face. Super sweet and smart with fine bone structure.
Romeo (left, with Valentino)
Romeo (left) came from the fall 2016 auction we attended- he was said to be 6 months old when in the ring, but didn't come with any papers or information. When he was gelded in the spring of 2017 (with friend Valentino) our vet confirmed that he was a yearling. He is confident, super friendly, has nice conformation. He leads nicely, even with very little handling so far. He has a quiet temperament and is super cute!
Havana is a gorgeous buckskin mare who was rescued in the fall of 2016. She is coming 3, and although she did not come with any papers, she definitely has that stocky build characteristic of smart little lena types. She is curious, and friendly, but never had been handled before we picked her up. She has since been haltered several times, and has had a vet exam, but she needs more basic handling. She has a lot of potential, and has grown a lot recently.
Magnus is a two year old buckskin gelding who we don’t expect to mature much over about 14’2. We got him at auction as an unhandled yearling who needed some TLC, but he’s since been gelded and had his feet properly trimmed, and is growing into a super handsome guy; he’s kind and mellow. Sire, CFHickory O Lena; Dam, Canadiana Msbuckpage.
Deva is a pretty little bay filly with chrome who was born May 17, 2014. We bought her at auction as a foal, and have since halter and lead trained her, she’s really good for the farrier. She is true to her barn name, and makes up for her small stature with a serious personae. Her registered name is “Lenas Flashy Cue Bar” - Sire, Peppy Kilocat; Dam, Lenas San Lou.
Evie is a stunning bay who was born in May 2014; we got her at auction that same year. Evie is a really smooth, mover who exudes intelligence, and she’s got serious speed - and charm, and a quiet intensity about her; she is always watching what goes on. She can be registered with AQHA – Sire, Pabs San Tivio; Dam, Skip Hop Snap.
Aiden (left, with Dakota)
Aiden came from auction as a skinny foal in 2015. He has since been halter and lead trained, gelded,
and spent quite a few nights in the barn. He is a little character and will stay relatively little; he has classic chestnut colouring with four white stockings and a star and blaze. Aiden used to be flighty but has really changed since he learned to trust; he’s super nice to have around, is good for the farrier, and remains close with Cinnabar.
Rhapsody has been Adopted! Congratulations, Nicole!
